Water Damage in Saint John, Indiana

Water Damage in Saint John, Indiana

Sump pumps can struggle to keep up during heavy rain events. The basement of this Saint John home flooded when it rained for several days in a row and water was coming in faster than the pump could pump it out. In the photo, you can see the water traveling throughout the carpet. If you want to prevent this from happening in your home consider installing a secondary backup sump pump.

When this homeowner built a basketball court in his basement in Saint John, Indiana he knew that someday his sump pump might fail. When it did he called SERVPRO of Benton, Jasper, Newton and Southern Lake Counties to do the water mitigation. Crews came the same Saturday he discovered the damage to detach the plastic floor tiles and remove the rubber pad. After the structure was dried they cleaned the tiles with antimicrobial so that they could be reinstalled. The tiles were labeled and kept in order so that the reinstallation would go quickly. The photo shows the tiles being detached and stacked so that the rubber pad can be torn out.

Our crews were called out to clean up the water from the pipe that flooded dozens of rooms in Crown Point, Indiana.

If he would have let the water sit, his floors would have been ruined and his business would have had significant downtime. Luckily, our team was able to quickly mitigate the waters, sanitize the affected areas, and get their business back up and running.
